Skate / スケート
Here at Horizon, physical activity and moving your body are critical aspects of education. Every year, our students go to the Kazakoshi Athletic Center to skate on the outdoor rink. Available for only a portion of the year, our students get ecstatic when skating is mentioned.
Skill doesn’t matter when sliding on the rink with us. It’s a free space; you can spot two kids whizzing by in a race, while another group of students casually talking while skating. Except for freezing feet, ice skating is an event all students look forward to.
Read about it through the lens of an elementary student:
“We went skating. Everyone was so nice and good at skating, even the kids practicing. It was so cold that I slipped on the ice a lot!
Skating can be tricky and dangerous. But when I succeed, it’s really fun! It can also be good exercise.
After skating, some of my friends were sent home by the teacher, and some of us had our parents pick us up.
It was so much fun that I want to go again. ”
